Only when we obtain knowledge and really appreciate "something", do we lose our awe and wonder about that something. At this moment, the awe and wonder shifts from the "something" to the knowledge itself.
Nature is wonderful in its enigma, elegant in its simplicity and yet, chaotic microscopically.

The 5k race
Ok, so I was just googling my name and I came across an interesting page. It contains the results of a 5k race organized by verizon wireless. I participated in the race as a member of the Alcaltel-Lucent team while doing my internship over there. I took 36 minutes and 41 seconds to run 5k and my overall place was 2145. The number of people who finished the race seems to be around 3250.

The Soldier and the Terrorist
Why is that when people kill for their God or their religion they are called religious fundamentalists/terrorists and when people kill for their country, they are called Soldiers? Is nationality really that different from religion?

The Abstract and the Real
The existence of Emotions and feelings in this universe is as real as the concept of Velocity or Velocity is as abstract as emotions. The flaw in the view (if you have one) that anything that exists should be a form of energy is exposed by a simple question: Why?. Clearly, as it stands now, Gravity does not "exist" according to that view. This new way of thinking for what constitutes as "existing" gives a place for the mind to exist and culminating in, one step beyond platonic philosophy, the unification of the Abstract and the Real.

The dreaming brain
The dreaming brain seeks to deceive thee,
and will show you what you wish to see.
Stand guard for the sake of what is real
making mighty your will and zeal,
For even from your deepest sleep
your may wake to find trouble in heap.
and will show you what you wish to see.
Stand guard for the sake of what is real
making mighty your will and zeal,
For even from your deepest sleep
your may wake to find trouble in heap.

A segment of my thoughts
At the risk of sounding extremely geeky, I feel the only academic subject which I could fall for would be mathematics. But still, even as I am saying this, I cannot reconcile with the possibility of being a mathematician. As much as I like the subject, I do not think I have the sufficient aptitude to excel in the subject. The genius minds and their notoriously undiscernable theorems still evade me. The Giants are so far away for me to climb onto their shoulders.
But on the bright side of it, what I gathered from my meager experience, is the fact that the appreciation of the intellectual richness inherent in the subject and the ability to effectively master and utilize it are symbiotic and grow together. This gives me the hope the there might come a time where my mind might feel at home with what is now an intimidating field. Or perhaps, I might realize that the latter is an insignificant factor.
